I’m really excited about our first christmas in our new home. So excited in fact that I have only gone and invited all the family around for Boxing Day.
I have also been persuaded to cook a BIG christmas Dinner – I don’t know how I get talked into these things, that will be 2 xmas dinners over 2 days! Luckily Andy is great in the kitchen.
I took an Ikea trip for decorations and inspiration, also for more chairs! We have final numbers on the family coming for Dinner and that unlucky number is 13 people in total, with more family and friends arriving in the evening for drinks, snacks and games.
I decided to impress everyone coming with their own little memento, they could take home with them to remind them of the fantastic dinner they would be having. I bought cheap white plates from Ikea whilst chair shopping and using my porcelain pens decorated them in individual ways with a christmas twist.
They went down a storm, every guest was thrilled with them and they looked lovely on the table when set as perfect place settings. I thought they actually looked quite professional considering they were so easy and quick to achieve. I think it’s the little things that make people feel special and these definitely achieved that special touch!
